About this list

A page for each of these clubs says that visitors are welcome or that the evening is open to anyone, so a game does not have to wait for a membership form. In Halle the PostTurnSportVerein keeps its Wednesday club evening, six to nine, open to everyone interested in chess; in Merseburg the Schachverein invites all comers to its monthly Thursday blitz at the youth centre, the Mampfe-Blitz. The TSG Markkleeberg welcomes players from other clubs to its blitz on the second Friday and its rapid on the last Friday of the month.

In Neukieritzsch visitors can try the game at the Thursday training evening in the Schachgalerie of the sports arena, and the Krostitzer SV and the Schachgemeinschaft 2011 Sennewitz both say guests are welcome. In Leipzig there are the Thursday chess hour of SV Makkabi in the Ariowitsch-Haus, the open introductory weeks of BSG Grün-Weiß and the Schachzentrum Clara-Zetkin-Park, whose chess house in the park charges one euro a day, children free, and whose winter meeting is held in the city library. The family chess club Randbauer plays in Markkleeberg and Plagwitz and asks for a note in advance.
