Learning the moves from scratch 5

Each entry here says that newcomers are expected. At the university sports centre in Leipzig the Thursday course from eight to ten is meant for beginners and leisure players, from 22 October 2026 to 4 February 2027. BSG Grün-Weiß Leipzig held open introductory weeks at its two club houses in Plagwitz and Markkleeberg from late August into September, and its partner, the Neuseenländer family chess club Randbauer, keeps game evenings for hobby players in both places.

North of Halle the Schachgemeinschaft 2011 Sennewitz welcomes beginners at its Monday children’s training from five, and in the east of Leipzig the KuB culture and education centre teaches children in a Saturday chess circle that needs a sign-up.
