Data privacy information

What the form sends

The form transmits what you enter: your name, one way to reach you and your message about a place, meaning the change, a page that shows it and how you know the place. The address and language of the page you sent it from are added. One hidden field, which people never see, is there to catch spam robots.

What happens to notes

Notes are kept by a form service until the next revision reads them, and are used only to check and act on what they report. Nobody is contacted unless a note asks for an answer and leaves a contact. Names and contacts are never shown on the site, never sold and never passed on to the club, school or organiser; the list of edits records the change, not who sent it.

Counting visits without cookies

Leipzig Chess sets no cookies. A small script served from the site’s own domain counts page views; it stores nothing in the browser and does not follow anyone to other sites. A view records the page, the page before it, the browser, the kind of device and the country derived from the request, and only totals are looked at.

Nothing from third parties

There is no advertising, no social media button and no outside tracker; fonts, icons and images all come from the site itself. Links to sources and maps lead to other sites with their own privacy rules. The hosting provider processes technical data such as IP addresses only as far as delivering the pages requires.

Your rights under the GDPR

To have a note you sent corrected or deleted, send a new note through the form with the same name and contact and say so; it is done at the next revision, and an answer follows only if you ask for one. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for instance the one of the Land where you live.
