About this list

The Rüben-Open Leipzig was first played from 12 to 14 June 2026 at the Werk 2 in Connewitz, and its second edition is dated 11 to 13 June 2027. The Franziska Gasch Memorial is the youth open of SC Leipzig-Lindenau, played in age groups from under 8 to under 14. In Halle the Tag des Schachs on the Peißnitz island brings a rapid tournament, free play for everyone and a simultaneous display on the last weekend of August.

The Vielerlei Spielerei collective holds open tournaments month after month, rapid and Freestyle at the Garage Ost in Leipzig and chess evenings in Halle, and gives 14 November 2026 as the date of its 27th rapid tournament. The MGH-Cup in the Kulturpark Deutzen is a rapid tournament of seven Swiss rounds whose 16th edition the Neukieritzsch gazette reported in May 2026, and the Krostitzer Kurzschachturnier a rapid for teams of four boards that has passed its sixtieth edition.
